Creative Sewing Machine Happenings!

Now that the Martha Pullen School and Sew What's New events are behind us, we are looking forward to the excitement of the holidays.  Thanksgiving is coming soon and all of us at Creative Sewing want to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.  We also want to remind you that the store will be closed Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014 and Friday, November 28, 2014.  We will be open on Saturday, November 29 from 9 am to 3 pm.

 

 If you need inspiration for Christmas gifts and decorating come into the store and look around at the beautiful projects you can complete.

 

 We have some beautiful ideas for your Christmas sewing and gift giving.

 

 

We are already planning inspirational events and classes for the first quarter of 2015.  We will be taking fun events from the past, taking them forward and making them fresh.  We will also have a 3 day Serger Workbook Workshop, welcoming all brands of sergers!.  Watch for the dates and time in the new newsletter that will be out at the end of December.

BERNINA SEWAPALOOZA

A full day of sewing fun! That is what we experienced at the Bernina Sewapalooza!

Our adventurers worked on three beautiful projects! One was an elegant shoe bag that was embellished with a mixed media design including painting (with the embroidery machine!), a crystal motif and an embroidered applique design.

The participants also made a cute little zipper pouch and a quilted pillow. Our Bernina educator, Kelly Rushing, was so impressed with our customers! We were impressed with her too.  Look at all the pretty things she brought to help teach us!

BERNINA SEWAPALOOSA IS COMING!!

Our heads are spinning from our recent visit to Bernina University.  We saw some beautiful machines....

Quilting Expo Winners!

We wanted to share a glimpse of the fun we enjoyed at the Knitting and Quilting Expo this year! 

 We got to play with so many of our favorite machines.

BabyLock educator, Debbie Martinez stayed busy showing attendees how you can do beautiful quilting and couching with the Crown Jewel Long Arm Quilting machine.

We gave away a BabyLock Ellure in the Friday drawing. Congratulations to Scott Martin of Wedgefield, SC!

Then on Saturday, we awarded a Bernina 800DL Serger to Penny Stevens!  What a joy to see their happy faces!

Painting with Bernina Sewing Machines! You have GOT to see this!

Last week, several of us Creative Sewing employees had the TIME of our lives trying out the new Bernina PaintWorks Tool! We would LOVE for you to come in store and check it out, too!

Bernina is known for their awesome feet, but to think that they've come up with a way to PAINT with markers and fabric pens, CUT FABRIC, PLACE CRYSTALS on your fabric, papers, TILE, and more! It just blew our minds and really got us excited here at Creative Sewing!

We tried out the PaintWorks Pen tool, a foot that attaches to your Bernina Embroidery machine, uses a unique paint software called Designs Works which allows you to turn your embroidery designs into paint designs, and we got started!

SUPER SEW DAY EVENT - March 22nd!

SUPER SEW DAY EVENT: March 22nd; 9:30 - 3:00 (Friday)

On March 22nd we will partner with Bernina to explore the very latest in creativity for our "Super Sew Day." We will transform a plain composition notebook into a mixed media work of art. This event will not only combine the newest technology and the best of machine embroidery and sewing techniques, but will also incorporate the new CrystalWork tool on the Bernina 830 to create an inspirational refillable book cover. Who would have believed that we could allow our embroidery machines to place crystals on our designs? Anyone interested in the Bernina 830 would be an amazing candidate for this event (non-owners only)!
